Hi, I’m Drew!
If you’re looking for a therapist who:
Specializes in working with adults who are looking for support related to gender, sexuality, chronic pain and illness, and neurodivergence
Is passionate about helping people learn healthy boundaries, unlearn harmful internalized ideologies, and find ways to live life in a way that is more authentic and aligned with their values
Is anti-capitalist, anti-racist, and trauma-informed
Has experience supporting people with depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, Autistic burnout, general burnout, ADHD, codependency, surviving in higher education/academics, major life transitions, self-esteem issues, and more
Then I may be a good fit for you.
We may be a great match to work together if: you are motivated to create change in your life, even if you have no idea what that change might look like; you are searching for a therapeutic space that will be affirming, caring, and challenging; you feel drawn to work with someone who has lived experience as a trans and neurodivergent person. I love working with folks who are in helping professions or are creatives, but I find fulfillment in learning about the whole rainbow of backgrounds and interests of the people I work with.
My work is informed by a systemic perspective as well as seeing everyone I work with through a strengths-based lens. I often incorporate a variety of skills and approaches into therapy to do my best at creating a therapeutic experience that best fits your unique needs. This might include elements of DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and other approaches that I may adapt depending on what's best for you.
A little bit about me and my background:
It has always been my calling to support people through hard times, which is partly informed by my personal experiences growing up as a neurodivergent, queer, trans person in the rural South. I found other ways to support others before becoming a therapist, including working for several years in various mental health and social work settings which allowed me to gain experience working with vulnerable populations and helping folks navigate systemic issues. Since earning my master's in clinical mental health counseling from Georgia State University in 2022, I have enjoyed being able to focus on creating therapeutic space with some of the communities I am part of.
When I'm not in my therapist chair, you can find me parenting my two cats, listening to podcasts and music, going to the gym, playing video games, creating art, and spending time with loved ones.
